I've been out there again, raking the wilds for spare digital change, and have come across another bum deal.
I am a supporter of CoinAd, I visit them regularly and can often be found in their chat.
Once you register there to pick up the occasional free +0.01 mBTC for
just chatting around, you will see the Offers List. Now, I don't blame
them at all for putting it in there, getting affiliate money (they even
share it with visitors), but... It's a deployment by OfferWalls and these are one pitfall after another.
"Just
one step to access the offers" - you have to fill out a contest entry
or a trial subscription etc. to continue, which is an involved process
that could end up costing you money, not to mention the wealth
of personal information they attempt to gather. That's fine too kinda,
got to get paid and all; but "Just one step" turns into "Just one more
step" again and again, with more trial subscriptions that could cost you
money.
I can honestly say I don't know if they pay out or not -
I've never actually been able to complete any of the offers, only had my
(fake) information gathered. Then again, I will never put a credit
card number into such a sketchy thing, and I highly recommend you don't
either.
Additionally, the rumoured bitpoints are 0.05 BTC per
1000... making the largest offer of 2610 points total out to around $6
at the going rate (47.75 USD/BTC), this offer leads to some adserver
redirect and a spyware download by the way, making it impossible to
complete. I had just as little luck with the "free" offers of 30 to 100
points.
In summary: save the time and effort and avoid OfferWalls.
