Here I'll list some exchanges and banks and such that you'll find handy if you're getting into earning b
itcoin.
- Mt.Gox
- This is the number one exchange, essential for all who are serious
about bitcoin. Free account, easy and straightforward to sign up.
- BTC-E
- Another bitcoin exchange, while not as popular or reliable as Mt.
Gox, some seem to prefer it's web UI. (By unreliable I mean down or
inaccessible, not money-losey.) It is also possible to exchange between bitcoin and various other digital currencies here.
- Liberty Reserve
- An online bank, to which many linking and affiliate programs allow
direct payment, from whom you can send money to Mt. Gox for BTC. Free
account, less easy to sign up. You'll be wanting to definitely
screenshot/save the page they give you when you finish signing up, they
won't e-mail it to you or otherwise show it again.
- InstaWallet
- If you haven't installed the bitcoin client yet, or want the security
of keeping your coins off-site, this is a super-easy way to get a
bitcoin wallet. Don't lose or share your secure access link, you will
lose all your coins.
- The Bitcoin Client- Not really an "account" per se, but you will eventually want to get
this to have a local wallet and a more direct way to see your
transactions and other neat info.
- Freenode
- This is an IRC network, check out their site on how to get started
with it. Register a nickname, and check out #bitcoin, #bitcoin-market,
#bitcoin-watch, and importantly #bitcoin-otc. OTC is where you can
trade bitcoin for other currencies and other (legal) stuff person to
person. Check out the wiki entry for more info on using it. Beware scammers. Check this page out for more IRC chats.
